All About Oil Pulling

There has been a lot of talk about oil pulling lately and so I decided to give it a try for myself. After my first experience, my first thought was, why didn’t I try this earlier!?

Oil pulling is incredible.

This simple task is so underrated for how many benefits it has for us. My mouth has never felt as good before trying oil pulling. I love how simple and easy it is to do. And how affordable it is to do it daily in my morning dental routine.

What is Oil Pulling?

Basically oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice which involves swishing oil around in your mouth.

Instead of buying a mouth wash, use a Organic Coconut Oil. Mouth wash is packed with unheard of ingredients and is expensive.  This simple practice of switching oil around in your mouth can have profound benefits not oil for the health of your teeth and your gums but also for the health of your entire body. The state of our mouth is a reflection of how our body is inside.

Getting Started

Start first thing in the morning before you brush your teeth. When you first put a spoon full of coconut oil into your mouth, you’ll notice the thick consistency and it might feel weird, but don’t worry.13365116024_239894514d_b

Once you put it into your mouth it will start to liquefy and this will make it easier for you to swish it around in your mouth.

You want to try to swish it around for 5-20 minutes. If you starting oil pulling for the first time, aim for at least 5 minutes and work your way up if you don’t think you can do it for a longer period. The longer you are able to swish the oil around, the better!

Once you are ready to spit out the oil, spit it into the trash can. Spitting it into the sink or toilet will clog the sinks.

Oil Pulling can help:

  1. Dental health
